GOVERNOR'S VISIT TO LONDON : NOVEMBER 1992

Although it is early days yet, we have been giving some preliminary thought to the sort of events which might be included in this visit.

In proposing events, we have been guided by the thought that Mr. Patten may want to take appropriate opportunities to "sell" his 7th October pronouncement at Westminster, to the media and to others of influence.

Accordingly, we tentatively recommend the following core activities :

Westminster

the usual late afternoon BHKPG session;

meeting with FAC members, possibly over drinks at Cowley Street;

as in (II) for the Conservative Party on Foreign and

Backbench Committee Commonwealth Affairs.
