This year's meetings of Commonwealth Finance Ministers and Senior Finance Officials are to take place in New York, 16-17 September. The Commonwealth Senior Finance Officials will meet on the morning of 16 September and Finance Ministers will meet on the afternoon of 16 September and on 17 September.

As in previous years, we would like to invite a number of Dependent Territories to attend these meetings as part of the UK Delegation. We would be pleased if a representative of your Government could join us for this year's meetings. I enclose details of the agenda for the Finance Ministers Meeting which concentrates on: Current World Economic Situation and Problems, including IMF and World Bank questions; Enhancing Private Investment Flows for Development; and Commonwealth Functional Cooperation, including pledges to CFTC for 1992/93. We would be grateful if you would confirm as soon as possible whether your Government wishes to participate. If you do wish to send a representative, we will arrange for further details of the meetings to be sent as they issue from the Commonwealth Secretariat.

There is a special hotel rate available to those attending the meetings (I attach details). We would be happy to book hotel accommodation but the cost, as with all other costs associated with your attendance, will fall to your Government.
