The Hong Kong Government have asked for advice on whether it is necessary for HMG to grant permission for an amendment to the Letters Patent to be reproduced in a book to be published by Butterworths Asia Ltd. I attach the relevant correspondence.

Our Legal Adviser has commented that as the copyright appears to be held by the Crown in right of UK, rather than in right of Hong Kong, permission to reproduce the Letters Patent needs to be given in London. She has however suggested that I

confirm this with you.

If HMG's permission is required, please could you advise on the appropriate authority.
