That the Forum will be a loosely structured and non-exclusive gathering of Parliamentarians who will participate either as delegates of their Parliaments or in their personal capacities.
That APPF membership will comprise Parliamentarians from the Asia Pacific region, in particular from ASEAN, the APEC group and the South Pacific Forum.
That the proposal by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea for an Asia Pacific Parliamentary Leaders' Forum is an illustration of the importance now being given to building bridges between the Parliaments and the peoples of the region, and that the Steering Committee may wish to consider this matter further.
That an expanded Steering Committee, chaired by Mr Nakasone, comprising Parliamentarians from an ASEAN country, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Papua New Guinea and the United States will prepare recommendations for the inaugural meeting, covering such matters as membership, support mechanisms and the APPF's relations with other regional organisations.
That to the extent that the attached Singapore Memorandum of Understanding is not amended by this document, it remains valid.
