great benefit to the Department of Audit. The Governor considers the present (local) Deputy is not yet suitable for promotion, and there will be time for a local officer to

succeed Mr Jenney when he retires in about 1995. I have no

reason to doubt the Governor's recommendation and recommend

that we approve the appointment.
