The Committee proposes that the ratio of registered foreign lawyers to Hong Kong solicitors (including partners) in a local law firm should not exceed 1:1.
Finally all foreign lawyers will be subject to the same code of ethics as Hong Kong lawyers which would require them to be competent to practise the law of their own or of any other jurisdiction which they practise.
