This is a loose end, which should have been spotted when the Limited Compensation Scheme was put into force in 1987. However, since all the other officers who retired early under the Scheme were happy to do so, we do not anticipate any

retrospective challenges. It has now been agreed by mutual consent that the officer in question will retire early, but the addition to the Colonial Regulations is necessary to avoid any problems in the future.
