HMOCS OFFICERS: POSTS IN OTHER DEPENDENT TERRITORIES: POLICE OFFICERS

(50)

I am now in receipt of your minute dated 20 October 1992 in which you have a updated me on the arrangements put in place recently to ensure that HMOCS police officers in Hong Kong are considered for posts in Dependent Territories on an equal basis to Diplomatic Service candidates.

We are occasionally called upon to search for and recruit UK police officers for posts overseas. I will of course now ensure that the Royal Hong Kong Police Force are drawn into the net. If Hong Kong officers are to be brought to the United Kingdom to attend selection boards, together with UK colleagues, do I take it that ODA will be responsible for reimbursing them with their travel expenses in the same way as presently applies to other candidates?
