Overseás Vacancy List Ref No OMJ 770/089/001A
I apologise for the delay in replying to your fax of 16 September. We were asked to have this vacancy filled by Oct 92 and unfortunatly while trying to achieve this the updating of the information on the overseas vacancy
list was overlooked.A field of candidates were referred to our Police adviser on 18 August 92 and a shortlist for interview had been agreed by 3 September. The interviews are now arranged for 8 October therefore I regret that we cannot consider further applications for this post.
I have referred the question of our recruiting either a serving or recently retired senior police officer from Hong Kong to our overseas police adviser in London. In the past we have directed our advertisements towards either serving UK officers or recently retired UK officers with up to data experience of a British police force. I will let you know the outcome of our enquiries to the overseas police adviser in due course.
