Housing Benefits

The judge may receive a non-accountable cash allowance (NCA) at the rate of $36,000 per month. For officers appointed from overseas, hotel accommodation of up to 28 nights is provided from the date of arrival in Hong Kong during which period the NCA is not payable. (Hotel accommodation entails payment of rent by the officer to the Government at a rate of 7.5% of his monthly salary on a pro-rata basis for the number of nights when hotel accommodation is provided, plus other charges as specified in CSR 842(1)).

GRAZCITY

On satisfactory completion of each 3-year period of service the judge will receive a gratuity. This will be at the rate of 25 per cent of the total basic salary of his substantive office drawn during the agreement period. If the judge dies in service, the amount of gratuity earned will be paid to his estate.
