I am directed to offer you an appointment as
Magistrate
in Hong Kong on agreement for 3 years on the terms set out in this letter and in the attached Memorandum on Conditions of Service for Officers accointed on Overseas and Annual Leave Agreement Terms (G.F.341A - August 1987).
This offer is subject to the satisfactory completion of certain recruitment procedures which are not a mere formality. Until this provisional offer is confirmed, you should not take any action, e.g. give notice of resignation to your employer, which would prejudice your position in the event of failure.
The salary scale with annual increment is as follows:
$28,070; $29,325; $30,595; $31,865
On appointment you will enter the salary scale at HK$ 28,070
per month.
Please inform me within 3 weeks whether you accept the offer on these conditions by returning the attached acceptance proforma. If you do not accept, please return all documents enclosed with this letter.
I also enclose for information copies of the CSB Circular No.3/81 and a Master Pay Scale. Civil Service Regulations of Hong Kong Government, the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance and the Independent Commission Against Corruption Ordinance are available for reference on request.
