(Paragraph 1)
CALCULATION OF LUMP SUM COMPENSATION
1. Lump sum compensation shall be calculated by multiplying the amount of the officer's annual pensionable emoluments by a factor appropriate to his age and pensionable service, but shall not exceed eleven thousand pounds sterling ses acted
2. Such factor shall, in the case of an officer' other than a Judge, be the factor ascertained from the following Table B, appropriate to the length of the officer's pensionable service and his age on his birthday last preceding the chosen date; and the factor for years of pensionable service in excess of eight shall be the same as the appropriate factor specified for eight years:
Provided that where either the age or the length of service of an officer at the chosen date is more than an exact number of years, the Federation Establishment Officer shall in calculating the lump sum compensation have regard to the completed months ul service and age in exness of the figures anpropriate to the officer in the table and shall apply a factor increased or decreased in proportion thereto:
Provided further that no compensation shall be payable-
(a) to an officer who on the operative date is on leave prior-
to retirement under the appropriate law; or
(b) to an officer, other than a Judge, aged 54 years or more ́on the operative date who retires on or after artaining. the age of 55 years.
In this paragraph, “chosen date" means the date at under the provisions of paragraphs 4 and 6 of Part I of th Schedule the compensation is to be calculated
