It has been decided to extend with immediate effect the option period for those officers who must exercise their options to join the New Pension Scheme before 31 December 1992 by three years.

This Circular introduces an amendment to paragraph 9 of Civil Service Branch Circular No. 12/87 in relation to the option arrangements.

2.

Paragraph 9(a) of CSB Circular No. 12/87 is accordingly amended as follows :

(a)

for officers under the age of 50 as at 1 July 1987, 8 years and six months as from 1 July 1987 or until their 50th birthday, whichever is the earlier, subject to a minimum period of 3 years.
