required to deal in forward contracts, the officer would need to have the resources to settle, i.e. access to funds equivalent to the prospective lump sum itself, otherwise the financial institution would not do business with him. Many officers will presumably not have such access years before retirement.
I hope the above is of some help. I'm sorry that neither of the above solutions seems very practical.
