spoke to Mike Waters this morning who confirmed that they

would be happy to do so if requested.

I propose sending him

the letter at B. The letter makes no mention of the

possibility of HMG subsidising officers' costs as this will alarm HKG given the implications it would have for any private

scheme which might or might not be put in place for HKG

officers.
