The proposal requires a mandatory minimum contribution of 10% monthly salary (up to $1,500) of all

least 5% of

The "vested" the salary of the employee. benefits under the Scheme will be transferrable when the employees change jobs. I am presently looking at the Civil Service implications of the proposed scheme.

Incidentally, I learnt that UK Civil Servants may 'port' their earned pension todate if they change jobs. you may be aware, we have no such provision in Hong Kong but may have to consider whether a change is warranted in the light of

Compulsory Retirement Protection Scheme proposed for the community at large. I should be grateful if you would let me have more details on the 'porting' of earned pensions for UK Civil Servants, namely, when this is implemented, the rationale, the 'porting' arrangements and relevant legislation.

Thank you very much for your kind assistance.

Yours ever,

(Miss Christina Tsang)
