ELIGIBILITY OF NON-HMOCS OFFICERS FOR STERLING SAFEGUARDS: RETIRED OFFICERS FROM INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT

491

1. Paragraph 3 of Mr Stone's minute of 6 Augúst to Mr Ricketts refers. Mike Waters, CSB rang me this morning to tell me the number of existing pensioners in the Indian sub-continent. (These would have a claim if we were forced to accept a contingent liability for the group of 57 serving non-HMOCS expatriate pensionable officers.) The total number is 269, comprising 112 from India and 157 from Pakistan.

2. He also mentioned that on 26 August he would send the first batch of updated data we had requested on the projected pensions liabilities. This would include data on serving officers only. He would not be able to send the data on pensioners until next week.
