At the next round cf discussions, we hope UK team can bring proposals which have

have regard to the very important principles that are fundamer tal to achieving an equitable and timely resolution of matters concern to HMOCS personnel in itong Kong. We envisage it would be very difficult to

difficult to take discussions forward in any meaningful way unless full cognizance is taken of this point.

As I mentioned last weel, you will know that we have now formed a group to explore how best to prepare for the possible need to conduct a high profile political lobbying and publicity campaign in the UK.

The group is putting together draft briefing material for MPs and the media. Clearly we hope these circumstances will not

not eventuate, but you will understand the level of disappointment and frustration with HMG's initial proposals which wholly overloo. the long concerns of HMOCS Members here.
