HMOCS ASSOC: FURTHER CONSULTATIONS

Thank you for your letter of 10 June to Nigel Cox, enclosing one sent to you by the HMOCS Association and suggesting a further round of consultations at the end of June. Nigel is away at the moment but I know that he and Dave Fish also look forward to having further discussions with representatives of the Association.
2. Following the May consultations with representatives of the Association, matters are under active consideration here in Whitehall. As Mr Goodlad said when he met representatives of the association on 26 May, we want quick resolution of the issues. But we shall not be in a position to have another round of talks as early as the end of this month. We are very conscious of the need to press ahead quickly but would prefer not to set a date just yet. We will let you know as soon as we are able to.
