(d) Brunei

The economic and commercial implications for not renewing after 1998 the agreement maintaining the garrison in Brunei.

[(e) Sinai Multinational Force (MFO)

The FCO hope that the withdrawal of the MFO can be delayed until the autumn.]

(f) UNFICYP

The responsibility for funding UNFICYP, under the Armstrong Formula of 1984, lies with the FCO. However with the increased demand for peace-keeping, coupled with a reduction of forces in the European theatre, we see a greater role for MOD sharing the cost of peace keeping operations.

(g) Korea: UN Honourguard

We hope for greater flexibility about the timing of the end to the MOD's commitment to funding the British Military presence in the UN Honourguard contingent beyond the end of the 1992/93 financial year.

(h)

Anti-Drugs Operations in the Caribbean

[(i) Hong Kong

The reassessments of the timing for withdrawal of our remaining forces in Hong Kong.]
