The Vietnamese Government and the United Kingdom/Hong Kong Governments express their wish that UNHCR participates in the process of orderly repatriation to the maximum possible extent in accordance with its role as designated by the Secretary General. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam notes and welcomes the assurances from UNHCR in monitoring ånd in coordinating efforts with all parties concerned to promote the phased and orderly return of non-refugees in a manner that is fully compatible with its humanitarian mandate and under conditions of safety and dignity. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam further notes the assurance from UNHCR to continue to provide the same level of assistance for all Vietnamese who return to Vietnam without distinction as to their date of arrival in Hong Kong.
