and Korean languages so it might have quite a wide distribution - at least in this region. Unfortunately, I have somewhat negative views as to Patton's recent initiatives, which views I have stated very specifically in my chapter on Greater China, i.e. on the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the overseas Chinese community in the region. I therefore feel it would be an appropriate courtesy to show my final draft chapter to the Governor, so that if he feels that I am mis- representing his position, he can have a chance to so advise me.

In this latter regard, and in reference to my letter to you of 22nd October, I would also appreciate hearing from you whether there is any possibility at all of your joining the fifth Tourreau Foundation Anglo-Japanese meeting at the Chateau from Friday, 30th July to Sunday, 1st August/Monday, 2nd August, 1993.
