I. Disciplinary cases under CR 57

1.
Decide whether disciplinary action should be taken, establish prima facie case of misconduct and prepare draft charge in consultation with AGC. (Where authority for instituting disciplinary action lies with CSB, recommendation for disciplinary action should be submitted to CSB in the first instance)

Issue letter of intent to the accused officer and allow 14 days for the officer to make representations

Examine the officer's

upon AGC's confirmation that
the representations are not exculpatory

Appoint Investigating
Committee (IC)
and Assisting Officer, brief them
on the proper disciplinary
proceedings and allow 14 days for the Assisting Officer to prepare his case (e.g. decide on what evidence to present and arrange for attendance of witnesses); arrange for date of hearing
4 weeks
5.
Inform the accused officer and provide him with copies of the evidence to be presented 14 days prior to the hearing

6.
Proceed with the hearing
