If Mr Wong raises the issues of erosion of benefits,
privatisation or localisation
- have been assured that HKG have no intention of eroding
terms and conditions of service in the run up to 1997
as announced in the Governor's policy speech, HKG are drawing up plans to advance the momentum of localisation,
particularly with regard to posts at the future principal
official level.

the HKG will handle any further privatisation/
corporatisation exercises with great care: civil servants' concerns over job security is fully appreciated by HKG.
