The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council has approved an increase in civil service pay of 11.17% for those earning $25,566 per month or more, and of 11.60% for those earning less than $25,566 per month, with effect from 1 April 1992. Details of adjustments to pay scales as at 31 March 1992 are given in the attached appendices, an index of which is at Appendix 1.

The

pay

of officers receiving "personal salaries" will be adjusted in accordance with the increase in the most appropriate pay scale. Details will be sent to departments separately.

Conversion arrangements

Pay will be converted to the new dollar value of the point with the same number, with effect from 1 April 1992 or the date of appointment, whichever is the later. Any changes caused by promotion, transfer or in-service appointment will therefore be based on the revised pay scales.

Daily wage rates for casual labour

4.

With

effect from the date of this circular, the daily wage rates for casual labour are also revised. Details are given at Appendix 12.
