'PORTING' OF EARNED PENSIONS FOR UK CIVIL SERVANTS

Thank you for your letter of 29 July in which you asked for details about the arrangement available to UK civil servants to 'port' their earned pension if they change jobs.

2. I am sending by bag a booklet entitled 'Transferring Your Pension Rights Out Of The Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme', which I hope will be useful. It includes guidance on the options available to UK civil servants with regard to any pension benefits that they have accrued in the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme, if they change jobs on or after 1 January 1986.
