(1) the advice of the Judicial

Service Commission (JSC) on the appointment is strictly compiled with;

(i) the Governor's own power to

make such appointment

personally is not prejudiced;

(ii) the appointment shall not exceed

6 months in any period of

12 months; and

(iv) the Governor reserves the

power to appoint all permanen t and special magistrates.

To give consent to any Justice of the Peace who is willing to act and who may suitably in conjunction with another such justice exercise the powers and jurisdiction conferred upon a special magistrate by this Ordinance.

To transmit maintenance order made in Hong Kong to reciprocating country for enforcement.
