The Union Flag, with the approved arms or badge of the

Territory emblazoned in the centre, should be flown at

Government House from sunrise to sunset, on any vessel in

which the Governor is embarked, or at any place where the Governor is temporarily resident while on tour within the

Territory.

A miniature of the above flag or standard may also be

carried on a motor car in which the Governor is travelling.

The Union Flag, un-emblazoned, should be flown at Government

House, from sunrise to sunset, when the Governor is not in

residence. It is also flown on other public buildings, and

may be flown by any British subject on land, wherever he may

be.

In the event of Government House being placed at the

disposal of a foreign reigning sovereign or the President of a republic, the Union Flag, emblazoned, and the national flag of the visitor are to be flown together, either side by

side or at the opposite ends of the building.

In the case of the death of any member of the British Royal Family, or of the Head of a Foreign State - Crowned Head or President instructions as to the half-masting of flags

will usually be received by telegram from the Secretary of

· State.

A Governor may authorise the half-masting of flags at Government House or on government or public buildings on the

death of any local personage of importance.

Where there is in addition a Territorial flag, local rules

may amend or replace those described above.
