Thank you for your letter of 28 December about the case of Mr Lorraine Osman. As you explain, Mr Osman has been transferred
from Pentonville to Brixton prison.
I am sorry that Mr Osman is concerned about his transfer to
Brixton. I have had enquiries made of the Prison Service about
this and I understand that the decision to transfer him was made
for operational reasons. If Mr Osman is concerned about his
treatment in Brixton, which is a London establishment used for
people who are on trial in the Crown Court system, then it is of
course open to him to make representation to the prison
authorities. There are procedures for any complaints he may have to be considered and, if necessary, dealt with.
