Further to my fax of 20 September, I understand that Mr D Coates (Peking) has arranged an advance for his travelling expenses from Peking. He therefore wishes to cancel the advance arranged in London.

2. I understand that Bookeeping Section has arranged payment of £400 into Mr Coates' bank account. I therefore enclose a cheque for £400 from Mr Coates made payable to the FCO in order to reimburse this advance.
