1. I write to thank you very much indeed for the excellent programme you set up for me in Hong Kong during my recent visit. Looking after FCO visitors is probably not the most exciting task but I appreciated your effort enormously and found all of the elements in my programme most useful.

I very much enjoyed the lunch which you and Nick Moakes hosted for Terry Furness and me a good opportunity to meet and exchange views with Canadian and American colleagues. I should be grateful if you could also pass on my thanks to Eddie Wong who played a key role in getting me from one appointment to the next.
