During your recent visit to Hong Kong, the

Governor referred to the most recent report on confidence in Hong Kong conducted by Survey Research Hong Kong Limited (SRH). He thought that you might find it interesting to see a copy.

We have now managed to obtain an additional copy and I enclose it for your reference. The view here is that the confidence index shown in chart 1 is as accurate a guide of the actual situation in Hong Kong as anything that we have seen.
