1. I submit for Ministers' approval a further list of 18
British Undertakings approved by the Advisory Group in Hong
Kong.
2.
Apart from a few minor comments, the DTI have approved
the 18 names on the list. Following previous practice they
have checked through Companies House in respect of those
which claimed a connection to a British registered company.
We also are content that the Advisory Committee's recommendations regarding all these organisations follow the
established guidelines.

The list submitted by the British Trade Commission in Hong Kong originally included one further organisation, "Save the Children", which we have omitted at this time.
Following my submission of 17 May, Ministers approved inter alia the Hong Kong Red Cross and Salvation Army. However the Governor has subsequently asked the Advisory Group to look again at whether these should be classed as British Undertakings. Legal advisers are looking into this at
present. As Save The Children has been classed as a British Undertaking under the same guidelines as the Red Cross and
