Thank you for your faxes of 9 and 15 January enclosing further names. As before our comments are split into four distinct categories:

companies on your lists which Companies House have confirmed are registered in the UK

on the basis of details provided by BTC a list of parent companies which Companies House have confirmed are registered in the UK. Names of the proposed subsidiaries are also included, though it has not been possible to check the relationship

lists of other institutions which we agree should be classed as British

residual list of companies, not registered at Companies House and on which we have no substantial information, on which we have to rely on the Committee's judgment.

We would be grateful for further clarification on the criteria for recommending two companies not registered at Companies House:

Harry Stanger FE Ltd at Companies House.

I have at present not included any of the companies associated with Guy Maunsell Intl Ltd who are registered in Jersey. How would these fit in with the criteria? There is a G Maunsell & Partners and a Guy Maunsell International Services Ltd registered in the UK?
