The Bank of Scotland falls under criterion A.
(i)
2.
There is insufficient information about the Birmingham and West Midlands Liaison Office, or the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Could the latter, possibly,
be considered under criterion E?
With regard to the points made in the main part of Miss Gray's letter:-
(a)
(b)
(c)
Would not the companies referred to in sub-paragraph (a) fall within criterion C if "British citizens" were to be amended to read "British citizens or any such body corporate or bodies corporate as is referred to in Item (a)"?
That would seem to me to be a justifiable amendment.
Why does receivership make a difference? Are not companies in receivership still companies or other bodies corporate?
Companies incorporated in the Islands would require an amendment to the criteria. This is very much a matter of policy. Do we consider such companies "British" in view of the use made of the Islands for incorporation of convenience?
(d) Miss Gray seems to have overlooked the fact that
criteria A and B refer not only to companies but to companies or other bodies corporate. As I have indicated in dealing with the list attached to her letter, a number of items quoted there would seem to fall within the qualification of "other bodies corporate".
