We knew list G would be cause for a further exchange of faxes, since the institutions listed do not readily slot into any of our
categories.
There are no objections to Yorkshire & Humberside, Welsh Development International and the Scottish Development Agency being listed under category A provided you are content.
Unfortunately, the Birmingham and West Midlands Liaison Office is not incorporated in Hong Kong but does in fact fit into little used category F. Dr S S Chang the resident director is a British citizen and the operation is of course wholly funded by Birmingham Council therefore categories F (i) and F (iv) are met (as is category F (ii)).
NDC (Far East Liaison Office) is straightforward. It is incorporated in Hong Kong, wholly owned by NDC and therefore can go to category B.
we are of the opinion that the British Chamber of Commerce can move to category C. Barrie McWhirter, the Executive Director confirms they are incorporated in Hong Kong and that their equity capital is wholly owned by British citizens.
With regards to BTA, BTC, Crown Suppliers, PSA International and IDB Northern Ireland, the only insight into HKG thinking was contained in Alan Paul's fax of 19 December 1990 to Peter Heap. In addition to those organisations specifically mentioned, we assume it also applied to IDB, Crown Suppliers and PSA International.
