Depending on events nearer the time, it might not be necessary for members to meet in February while the applications are being received, sorted and preliminarily vetted by the Immigration Department. It will probably be necessary to put up lists of applicants in the Sensitive Services Class and the Entrepreneurs Class for endorsement by the Committee in March.

5. By May, the first series of computer analyses on applications in the General Occupational Class or the Disciplined Services Class will become available. These will be presented to members for consideration in committee. The analyses will take the form of queues of applications in order of points scored for each occupational group. Information on the composition of each queue in terms of occupational mix, age and other relevant criteria will be furnished. Profiles of the major occupations will also be submitted. This information will assist members in deciding whether and how special circumstances points should be applied to any of the occupational groups. Revised queues and analyses will be generated in the light of members' decisions on the application of the special circumstances points. This process may be repeated until members are satisfied with the composition of the queues. There might also be a need to meet more frequently in April and June for this purpose.

6.

Following the acceptance of the queues by the Steering Committee, interviews of applicants whose provisional scores have brought them within the quota for the relevant occupational groups will commence. The interviews will be conducted by Senior Immigration Officers for the purpose of verifying the facts and particulars furnished by the applicants. At the same time character checks will be conducted
