The granting of British citizenship to

to employees of ICI China is critical for our long term development in this region. I enclose a note which explains why our business is very heavily dependent on the retention of our key personnel. Unlike some companies, we did not feel that it is appropriate to provide special financial inducements to key employees to stay with the company. However, we do rely on the virtues of the British Nationality Scheme and believe that the quality of many of our staff would be of long term value to the future of Hong Kong. For your information we have enclosed a list of those ICI employees who have applied under the British Nationality Package.
