Problem
1.
Mr Anthony Rogers, Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association has written again to urge that extra points be
awarded to Barristers for British links in the same way as
for solicitors working for firms with British Undertakings.
How to respond?
Recommendation
2.
I recommend that Lord Caithness reply on the lines of
the attached draft which was provided by Hong Kong
Government. Legal advisers are content.
Background
3.
Mr Roger's letter of 22 March is in response to the
Minister's letter of 14 March. Full background and argument
on this particular aspect of the Selection Scheme was
covered in Miss Marsden's submission of 13 March.
