both of whose parents fall into category (i) or (ii), there could be Chinese nationals born outside Hong Kong with a Hong Kong connection, who do not have a right of abode in the SAR (in most cases - if not all they are likely to have a right of abode in China.

Non-Chinese who have a connection with Hong Kong may, after 1997, be BN (0)s, non-Chinese aliens, stateless, BOCS, as well, of course, as British citizens with the right of abode in the United Kingdom. of this category:

(i)

persons who entered Hong Kong on valid travel documents and have ordinarily resided there for a continuous period of not less than seven years and taken Hong Kong as their place of permanent residence;

(ii) the children under 21 of any such person or

persons; and

(iii) any person, other than those set out in categories

A(i)-(iii) or B(i) and (ii) who before the

establishment of the Hong Kong SAR had the right of abode in Hong Kong only, are also entitled to the right of abode in the SAR.
