Mr McLaren has agreed to give Sir Richard Luce an oral briefing at 11.00 am on Wednesday 30 January.

Sir Richard Luce has stressed that he would like written briefing as well. Mr McLaren has stressed that this should be fully up to date and has suggested that it might be "personalised", eg by changing the heading to something along the lines of "Visit of Sir Richard Luce to Hong Kong

".

Sir Richard Luce may be accompanied on 30 January by Mr Michael Colvin MP, who will be going with him to Hong Kong. A further set of briefing should therefore be prepared, similarly personalised, for handing to Mr Colvin.

The material should be ready and with Mr McLaren by cop Tuesday 29 January at the latest.
