Prime Minister's Visit to Moscow, Peking and Hong Kong: Mrs Major's Thank You Letters

As requested in your letter of 12 September I enclose suggested texts for Mrs Major's thank you letters for her visit to Hong Kong and China. Our Embassy in Moscow advise that there is no need for any thank you letters to Russians, as Mrs Major's separate programme was very modest. However, Mrs Major may wish to drop a personal note to Catherine Manning (wife of the Head of Political Section), who showed her round Moscow.
