Briefing for the Prime Minister's Visit to China

I understand that Sir Percy Cradock has commissioned a basic paper on China as part of the briefing for the Prime Minister. No 10 would like this by 14 August, please. It should come through Private Office in the normal way if it is ready by 9 August; otherwise Mrs Chalker's office will despatch it at the beginning of the week when we are closed.

No 10 would like the main briefing for the Prime Minister to reach them by Friday 23 August. It should be cleared through Mr Lennox-Boyd or, if he is back, Lord Caithness before coming to this office to be sent over to No 10.
