Mr Christian Dettwiler, Executive Producer, Swiss National TV, Switzerland (March 4-28)

The TV crew is preparing a programme entitled "City Trends" which is a series about different cities in the world. The part on Hong Kong will focus on historic buildings, the harbour as well as interviews with some local celebrities. Arrangements have been made for them to film a boat of the Hai-Luen (HK) Trading Co Ltd which acts as a food-supplier to ocean liners; and the outside building of the Royal Observatory.

Mr Helmut Rack, Reporter, Asia Division, ARD Radio, Hamburg, Germany (March 13 - 26)

Mr Rack is preparing a two-hour programme on Hong Kong entitled "Today's Topic". He is interested in the Vietnamese migrant issue, brain drain, trading links with China, democratisation of Hong Kong in the run up to 1997, Star Ferry and counterfeit goods.

Arrangements have been made for Mr Rack to interview the Government Refugee Co-ordinator, Mr Clinton Leeks and to visit a VM centre. He will also interview the Chairman of Kader Industrial Co, Mr Dennis Ting on his operation in China and expansion plans.

Mrs Anita Emmi, Producer, Radio 4CA, Cairns, Australia (March 15 - 21)

The team is visiting Hong Kong to promote Hong Kong as a tourist destination for the residents of Cairns in north- east Australia. They are interested in 1997 issues.

Chief Information Officer of GIS Overseas Public Relations Section, Mr Mark Pinkstone will participate in a live broadcast to discuss Hong Kong in general in connection with 1997.

Mr David Shaw, Political Correspondent, The London Evening Standard, UK (March 16 30)

Mr Shaw has requested an overall briefing from senior Government officials on the political and economic situation in Hong Kong during the transition period.

Arrangements have been made for him to meet the Chief Secretary, Sir David Ford and the Director of Inchcape Pacific Ltd., Mr Paul Cheng.
