March 7th Flight TN 542 departing Melbourne at 1800 hrs and arriving Sydney at 19.10 hrs. Accommodation booked at the Inter Continental Hotel, Sydney for three nights, ie March 7, 8, and 9. Friday, March 8 - speaking engagement - AIM-NSW Luncheon in Sydney. Again organised by Australian Institute of Management. Meeting for BIM members in Sydney being organised for the evening of Friday, March 8th by Mr Richard Nott, CBIM, General Manager-Corporate Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Australia Ltd. Mr Eirvin Knox, Managing Director, Standard Chartered, will welcome guests. Dinner to follow for Peter Benton with Richard Nott and John Love, General Manager, Banking Northern, Standard Chartered. Saturday, March 9 is free at this stage.

Sunday, March 10 Depart Sydney QF 027 at 1100 hrs and arrive Hong Kong 1755 hrs. Accommodation booked for two nights at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong, for two nights, ie March 10 and 11. Speaking engagement being arranged by Elizabeth Shing, Director General of the Hong Kong Management Association for lunchtime on March 11th at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. "Managing Turbulence." Evening meeting for BIM members in Hong Kong to be organised on March 11th by Mr K H Lomas FBIM, Deputy Commissioner (Management), Royal Hong Kong Police.

Tuesday March 12 depart Hong Kong NW 018 at 0915 hrs and arrive Tokyo 1355 hrs. Accommodation booked for two nights at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, ie March 12 and 13. Speaking engagement at a luncheon meeting in Tokyo on March 13 being organised by the International Management Association of Japan, Mr T Kawasakiya, Executive Managing Director. 12 noon to 13.30 hrs at Mitsui Club (3-2-6 Kasumigaseki, Chiyoda-ke, Tokyo). (Mr Ryokichi Hirono, Professor, Seikei University and Vice Chairman of IMAJ, to act as host). Also same day Peter Benton to speak at seminar from 2 to 4.30 pm with simultaneous translation from English to Japanese. Again organised by IMAJ. This will comprise a lecture to approximately 40 senior managers of IMAJ's corporate members, ie leading corporations of various industries, and will be held at Takebashi Kaikan (1-4-1, Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). Entitled "Europe to the Urals? Managing the transition from Cold War to the world's largest market place. Dinner to be hosted by Mr Ronald G Pearce CBIM, President of Proctor & Gamble Far East Inc, for BIM members in Japan on evening of March 13th. 6.30 for 7.30 pm at the Imperial Hotel, ("Matsu-no-ma" room on the 4th floor).

Also on Wednesday March 13 prior to lunch Mr Kawasakiya to collect Peter Benton from Imperial Hotel at 9.30 am and take him to visit Head Office of NEC (5-33-1, Shibaz, Minato-ku, Tokyo). Meeting with Mr Koji Kobayashi, Chairman Emeritus of NEC, Vice Chairman IMAJ. Followed by guided tour of the NEC Intelligent Building.
