Thank you for your letter of 7 May, and the

additional information therein.

I do indeed find your list of value in checking on planned visits to Hong Kong, particularly as you say in the case of Ministers from other Whitehall Departments. The Earl of Arran is a classic case, as we never, so far as I know, received any formal notification that it was being planned.

The Governor

would certainly have wanted to see him. The list also helps us make sure that you are in the picture about our own proposed visits.
