1. The Governor has sent us a revised outline programme. But some outstanding points remain to be settled (Hong Kong telnos 839 and 861).
2. I should therefore be grateful for guidance on the
following:
(a) Would the Secretary of State like to have drinks
with Conservatives abroad? The Special Adviser recommends
that he should do so; Lord Caithness, however, does not
believe that the Secretary of State needs to see them.

(b) Would the Secretary of State like the senior British
Trade Commissioner, Mr Heap, and the senior JLG representative, Mr Galsworthy, to be invited to the dinner at Government House on 2 April?

(c) The Secretary of State has asked to have an
opportunity to stretch his legs after his arrival on 2
April. The Governor has asked whether the Secretary of State would like to go for a proper walk (as opposed to, for example, a walk around the garden at Government House).
Would Mrs Hurd like to take part in this?
