warlike operations are being carried out or are

to be carried outside of Hong Kong or any other

operations are being carried out or are to be

carried out in connection with the warlike

activity of any persons outside Hong Kong,

the Governor shall by order, in accordance with the

instructions of the Secretary of State

(i) revive the effect of section 8 either for all

purposes or for the purposes described in the

order; or

(ii) where section 8 already has effect pursuant to

an order under this subsection, provide for

section 8 to cease to have effect either for all

of the purposes for which it already has effect

or only for those purposes described in the

order.

(3) An order under subsection (2) describing purposes for

which the effect of section 8 is to be revived, or for which

the section is to cease to have effect, may describe those

purposes by reference to any matter and may make different

provision for different cases, circumstances or persons.
