The Programme is administered by a Co-ordinating Committee comprising: Mr. Christopher Allsopp (Fellow of New College); Mr. Andrea Boltho (Fellow of Magdalen College); Professor Wlodzimierz Brus; Sir Alec Cairncross; Mr. Andrew Glyn (Fellow of Corpus Christi College); Mr. Andrew Graham (Fellow of Balliol College); Mr. Michael Kaser (Fellow of St. Antony's College); Mr. John Knight (Fellow of St. Edmund Hall); Dr. Cyril Lin (Programme Director).
There have been 25 trainees since 1987, five of whom are currently at the Centre. Seven trainees are expected for the academic year 1990 to 1991.
On arrival in Oxford, trainees are allotted to various families to improve their English, in addition to being put through an intensive language course at the University's Language Training Centre. As Visiting Graduate Students at various Colleges, they attend weekly tutorials and regular lectures. During the Christmas vacation, they undergo an intensive course in computer-based macroeconomic modelling. In the Easter vacation visits are arranged to leading economic and financial institutions in the United Kingdom, including the Bank of England, the Treasury, the Department of Trade and Industry, The Financial Times, the Institute of Fiscal Studies, Midland Bank plc, Kleinwort Benson plc, National Economic Development Office, McKenna Solicitors, J. Henry Schroder Wagg & Co. Ltd., National Westminster Bank, and the Central Statistical Office. In Trinity term each trainee submits a short dissertation on a subject agreed with his or her supervisor. During the summer vacation the students spend a period of internship with some of the above mentioned institutions.
