Bill of Rights related cases
Your letter of 4 September asked about two recent cases where judgments involved the Bill of Rights. There have in fact been more than two such cases. I am enclosing an excellent note prepared by John Leung of Constitutional Affairs Branch which summarises the details. I hope this is of use. Just in case there is sufficient interest at your end in the detail, I am enclosing copies of rulings in the two cases to which you refer.
No doubt these represent only the very beginning.
